In a Women in Ministry meeting in late 1995, God began to unfold the purpose behind all the years of training and experience that our Pastor and founder Rev. Venetia E. Moore had acquired when he spoke a word through the prophet of God that the Pastoral call was upon her life. At that time, shetor began to seek God for his will concerning her ministry and a confirmation of the word that she had received.
In the years that followed, the numerous confirmations, her service in ministry and the development and blossoming of her giftings made more and more apparent what God was saying thus establishing his vision for the Ministry in her heart.
It would be 8 years later; on March 8, 2003, that she would answer the call to become the founding Pastor of Abundant Living Teaching Ministries; A mutli-racial multi-cultural, non-denominational Worship and Praise Teaching ministry based in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.
With a desire for the conversion of lost souls being a primary focus, the ministry is continually reaching out to the unchurched population in their community. Some of the ministries activities have included free tape giveaways, doorknocker campaigns, Park outreaches, Valentine’s Day Love Day and our annual Thanksgiving Fellowship all designed to share the love of Christ and his saving power with a dying world.
Adittionally, the ministry is a part of the programming of BCAT (Brooklyn Cable Access Television) and Staten Island Community television.
In addition to the Sunday worship experience, as the vision grew and clarity came, the Lord led Pastor Moore to add a Discovery Bible Study, Chat and Chew meetings and Q&A in every service to meet the needs of those who attend. The ministry also began monthly Leadership training meetings designed to equip those assisting in ministry to operate in excellence.
Admittedly, the ministries progress has not been without challenge or difficulty but the faithfulness of our God has sustained us through it all. He has shown us his power, his favor, his grace, and mostly assuredly his love. He has challenged us to know him, grow up in his love and to take our rightful place in the body of Christ. Thus “We are Learning and Changing to Walk In The Abundant Life”.
As we move in the will of God we look to our future with hope and expectancy. A hope born out of relationship with the only one who is able to effectively transform our lives and an expectancy that he will do just that because he promised that he who has begun a good work in you is able to complete it. We are assured at this point that loving God is not a destination it is a journey.
So the story continues……….
